If TIN validation fails:
- Check that the top line of the tax form contains the entity that matches the TIN.
- If you enter a "Company" on the top line, fill out the EIN below.
- If you enter a "Name" on the top line, fill out the SSN below.
- Check that the TIN value entered is correct, then attempt to have the TIN validated again.
If your EIN was issued recently, it may not yet be in the IRS database. Please allow 2-3 weeks before trying to validate your TIN. If you've already attempted validation, notify Makrwatch and provide the IRS letter stating that the EIN was issued. Makrwatch will contact Tipalti for help, and Tipalti will continue to try and validate your TIN.
Tipalti runs the TIN validation daily. This process depends on the IRS validation tool being available and working properly. If there are problems or delays with the TIN validation process, Tipalti will notify Makrwatch of the delay.
